If we compare it to the previous films of Nagaraj Manjule like Fandry or Sairaat, Jund fails to stand out on its own. Yet it mattered because of representation of people who have been forgotten socially and remembered only when we want to portray criminals on big screen.
Jhund is sports drama but it could have been better if it would have delved little more into the world of people whose story film is trying to showcase especially in first half. There is nothing much in the first half and tend to prolonged but second half gets lot better.
One good thing about film is it doesn't make #Bacchan hero or saviour. Other thing I notice is love angle between Ankush and Bhaavna, they don't exchange single words in entire film. There is no dialogues between them until the end when Bhaavna says something in English and Ankush doesn't. Maybe he understands the difference between their world and choose silence.
Though many scenes fails to emphasise on the impact, there were many iconic scenes like watchman trying to play football, gates of college opening for people from slums, one players quest to find her identity documents to make passport. Editing and screenplay could have been lot better with better structure binding all character's stories together from start to end.
