USA is the land of choice… there are sooo many options to choose from for almost everything and eggs are no exception.
You have free range, cage free, Vegetarian fed , organic, humanely raised, brown, white, Grade AA ,A, B.. just to name a few options and there is a wide price range from $1.50 for a dozen to $7.50 per dozen.
I recently came across 'Mobile Pasture Eggs' which essentially mean that the hens are taken to different places to graze which gives them the best diversity in diet which in turn leads to the healthiest eggs. These eggs also have a deep orange yolk which is consistent to home grown eggs which I have eaten which were shared by friends who have hens at home.
So if you can afford it .. I recommend try any local variety of mobile pasture eggs .. In Washington .. I try Wilcox farms mobile pasture eggs .. you can even see the hens grazing on a live cam if you really want!
