It is Christmas Day 2022 Merry Christmas everyone, the holidays are time for family and friends and yes I was thinking about my parents, they have both passed away in the last few years so holidays are not the same but they can still be good. the weather kept me from going to my brothers
but Jennifer and Mary Ann invited me over for Christmas dinner with them so that is my plan. Now if you follow my bog you know I love Christmas and for me Christmas is more traditional and yes there is some family traditions that I wanted to keep alive, probably why I decorate so much for Christmas. I started the day going to Church for the Christmas day service and on the way home I did stop and put flowers on my parents grave before going home and having chips, dip, crackers and cheese as I watched the movie White Christmas as this has been the tradition I did with my parents.
Now as I said I was going to Jennifer & Mary Ann's for dinner and Jennifer will be male mode as they would be getting home late and I had been going back and forth on if I would be Susan or my male self. It was going to be just the 3 of us so going as Susan was no issue, but I was still leaning towards going as my male self and I think it was because it was Christmas. Now Jennifer did text me and said Mary Ann was hoping it would be Susan who came so that did settle it. I started getting ready about 3pm and yes as soon as I started doing my makeup the day just seemed a little better. I took my time getting ready and by 4:15pm I was already so I got a few pictures and I was on my way as I was supposed to be there at 5:30 and my GPS said it would take 50 minutes to get there.
I got to their house about 5:20 and walked up and rang the doorbell. Jennifer opened the door yes it was her male self but to me she was still Jennifer. It was great to see her, I had brought a Gluten free Buche de Noel that looked so good I just had to get it. Mary Ann and Jennifer were
making dinner so we talked for a little bit as they finished up. they do have a beautiful house and the Christmas Decorations were awesome. It was about 6pm when dinner was ready, Ham, Baked potato, snow peas, fruit and a salad. The food was awesome and it was so enjoyable to have a nice dinner with them, it was so wonderful they invited me to share part of Christmas with them. it is funny as Jennifer was her male self and I really never even thought about how I was dressed, we were just 3 friends sharing a meal.
After dinner we played Yahtzee which I have not played in many years and it was so much fun and I actually won. We took a little break and had dessert, the Buche de Noel and it was really good and we sat and talked a little more. After that we played another game, it was a domino game which I have never played before but it was a lot of fun. Mary Ann won this game but it was so much fun just a good old family game night, something I haven't done in a long time. The night went by so fast and soon it was 9pm and I had to leave as I had almost an hour drive home. I can't thank them enough for letting me share Christmas with them.
The drive home was relaxing and gave me time to think about the day and it was a really good Christmas, I have met such wonderful people as Susan, people I would not have met had it not been for this side of me. it was just after 10pm when I got home and got ready for bed. now I am looking forward to Monday nights zoom call and Wednesday nights dinner.
