I finished watching 'Everything, Everywhere All at Once'. This movie is cleaning up at awards shows, having just won 4 SAG's. I don't get it. I had to break down my viewing into two parts. The first sitting lasted about half an hour, and I turned off the set. (It's available on Amazon Prime) I thought "maybe it's just me" so I will give it another attempt later on. Later on came this morning. And still, the movie made little sense. In fact, I scrolled thru scenes in fast forward mode. It is a movie that basically comes down to a random selection of scenes about kung fu fighting, father/daughter conflict, a couple struggling with their own mid life crises and a nod to same sex union thrown in for good measure. This diverse collection of themes runs throughout the 2 hour and 19 minute movie. Perhaps it might make sense as some kind of unity if one is high on mushrooms. I watched it sober and like I said, the only way I could make it to the end was to scroll thru scene after scene. I must say the actors acquit themselves very well but the movie in total is a dud. Worth watching if you have Amazon Prime. Otherwise I would not recommend wasting your money going to the theater.
