This is what turns so many people off.. ooo Figures reveal white, middle class and middle-aged people still represent the majority of new magistrates despite a diversity campaign... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2023/07/30/government-campaign-magistrates-working-class-fails/ Not, please note, a campaign by lefty legalice, or similar agitprop undesirables... . 
. ....but by the Tory Government, not just Sunak, of course, but he's in Number 10 at the moment and just dotes on 'diversity.' Why is a mystery. If non-whites, or teeny-boppers or the 'working-classes...' (whatever that means nowadays!) ...want to apply to be magistrates, surely they are free to try for vacancies? But why push them into such positions if they're not bothered? Whar's wrong with 'white, middle-class and middle-aged people?' Sometimes that sort do get things wrong, for example at Westminster Magistrates Court... But... Do they deliver occasional, or frequent, injustices by virtue of their ethnicity, their level of income or their maturity? God knows there are plenty of clowns all over the UK holding court, both magistrates... .....and judges too, like that vicious bigot Tayler... .

Yet I can't imagine magisterial personages of a different ethnicity, or income-level, or age-group... - .
