All tools can be used as weapons.
Currencies are tools used by people to interact confidently with others they do not know or trust.
If we ourselves do not have direct control over a currency and how it is managed, then someone else has influence over how we make choices and interact with others.
There are too many people on the planet to have physical currencies: a logistic and environmental nightmare. Without question, the future is digital. And, there are too many different societies and cultures on the planet to have a single currency… at the individual consumer level.
All currencies are dangerous and come with inherent risks.
The Internet is a prison, and it benefits the warden to encourage the prisoners to form many different gangs. This way they will fight each other instead of pooling together against the prison guards and warden. This concept is equally true and important with both social media and digital currency.
The adaptive pressure of centralized currency is towards despotism, while the adaptive pressure of decentralized currency is towards feudalism. No matter what system is in use, to maintain our freedom we must always be vigilant and competitive against these adaptive pressures.
With centralized currency the people have more leverage; people are able to pool together and fight for democracy, justice, and equity. With decentralized currencies corporations will have more leverage; people will be kept separated by the fact that each corporation will pay their employees in a different currency.
The political illusion is that we can set up a system that allows people to interact without any risk at all. Our currency is more important than our vote to maintain our democracy, justice, and freedom.
The hidden truth: Each dollar we spend has more influence over government and public policy than all of our voting put together.
