The goal of reviewing the curriculum is to enhance and improve the quality of knowledge provided to the students. Not only this, timely review and up-gradation of the curriculum also increase students' engagement, experience, performance, and outcomes.
The process of revising and reviewing the curriculum proves to be a valuable developmental step that benefits people on the individual and collective levels. Well-planned and well-executed curriculum revisions can improve the collaboration and communication between the staff, which leads to stronger program identity and program team standards.
Curriculum Evaluation and review examines whether the "Aims and Outcomes" of the curriculum are being met or not. A part of this review conducts the assessment of the students – specifically taking into account the success rates, for example, checking the grading scheme. The key purpose of a curriculum evaluation is to determine what works, what did not work, what should be corrected and modified to reap optimum outcomes for the next year.
It's important to note that a major check should be made on the method of evaluation itself. The methods used must be reliable and valid such that they reflect what the students are gaining. Are Formative assessments and summative assessments being practically implemented?
