It seems that sex education needs to be revamped. In its current state it does not provide teens with the information that they need to be adequately prepared for sexual relations.
Currently, sex ed seems to deal primarily with the anatomy and basic mechanics of sex. It doesn't cover the emotional or psychological aspects of sex. It also doesn't cover different positions, what sex can mean, what it can bring to someone and how it can help teens in their development.
Sex can bring people experience, confidence, growth in their personal nature and relationships. It is an important part of development into an adult. Without that experience, people can be at a loss for that necessary development.
We need to revamp how we prepare teens for sex and relationships. Teaching them does not need to be seen as a means to the ends of enticing them to engage in sex, but it does need to be done in such a way that it does properly prepare them, and the anatomy and basic mechanics is not adequate preparation.
