I was a bit surprised to see that there's never been a post on Sleaford Mods in this slot over the years. Not that they've not been mentioned on the site a couple of times, but usually in reference to end of year round-ups of music. Sleaford Mods are an explicitly political band (interview here with them from the Guardian), but that would mean nothing if it weren't for the fact that the songs they write are so strong. And that's down to both keyboard player Andrew Fearn and vocalist Jason Williamson. Melodies are wrung from minimalist arrangements. The spoken-ish vocals thread through the music. It's something else. But you know all this.
Anyhow, was going to look at posting up some thoughts on an album or two and then the other day happened to be watching some of their tracks on YouTube and realised that they had a range of collaborations with other artists. And they're pretty great. Indeed at least one of those was mentioned one Christmas, that being the one with Amy Taylor of Amyl and the Sniffers. I really like the one with Billy Nomates (that interior brings it back).

A recent one was with Orbital (or was it Orbital's collaboration with them - either way a great track). And then there's So Trendy which features Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro. On paper I didn't get it, but listen to it.
Here's a range of others, some I'd forgotten, others that are firm favourites.
Force 10 from Navarone: Sleaford Mods ft Florence Shaw

Mork n Mindy: Sleaford Mods ft Billy Nomates

Nudge It: Sleaford Mods ft. Amy Taylor

So Trendy: Sleaford Mods ft. Perry Farrell

Ibiza: The Prodigy feat. Sleaford Mods

Dirty Rat: Orbital and Sleaford Mods
