It is the last Sunday of August and I was looking forward to my normal Sunday time at Starbucks this afternoon. Julie called me about 11:30am and said she and Trixie were going to see the Barbie movie at 1:30pm at Cascade Park regal cinemas and want to know I wanted to join them. Well of course you know the answer was yes. Julie said she had an extra ticket and it was reserved tickets so our seats were assigned next to each other, yes I am sure when she bought them she knew my answer would be yes. I do enjoy my time at Starbucks but getting together with friends is better and being able to spend time with Julie and Trixie is the best as they really are more like family. Julie knows more about me than anyone including my family. I can totally be myself around her in male or female mode. There are a few girls in the group that I am comfortable sharing everything about me with. Now of course I would have to rush a little as I was at COSCO by the airport when she called so it would be a little after noon when I got home and would take me 25inutes to get to the movie theater so I would have about 45 minutes to get ready, kind of like a Wednesday night but it would be so worth it. I got home just after noon and started getting ready,
I did a reddish pink lipstick and my rose-colored eye shadow; it took me
about 25 minutes to do my makeup and now it was time to get dressed. Now I know Julie and Trixie are wearing pink as it is a Barbie movie but I really don't have a pink dress. I do have a Salmon colored lacy dress that is cute but as far as pink I just have a top that is close to pink so I decided to wear that and then I wore black leggings and a short black skirt. It was a cute look but I will have to think about getting a pink dress. I was all ready by 12:45 and on my way. Now I have gone to the movies before as Susan, a few times by myself and once with the group. Actually, going to the movies is kind of a great first time outing for someone new to the transgender life. You can buy your tickets online and once you get into the theater you are sitting down in a dimly lit room and once the movie starts it is dark so your real only exposer is walking in and the lobby.
I got there about 1:15 and walked in, Julie and Trixie had not arrived so I had to wait about 15 minutes and I just stood in the lobby like it was perfectly normal and watched the people come and go and yes I did wonder if I would see anyone I knew here. It was just after 1:330 when Julie and Trixie arrived and we got snacks before going into the theater so you would think we were late but no. the movie actually started at 1:25 but by the time they played all the advertisements and movie previews it was 1:50 when the actual movie started. Now I haven't been to an actual movie at a theater in probably 4 or 5 years so this was fun and I will admit going to see Barbie would probably not have been a movie I chose to go to. That being said the movie was really good. The beginning I didn't really care for, but once I got past that the movie was good and yes I would recommend it especially if you grew up with Barbie's or just want an excuse to wear something pink and cute. It was a really fun time and yes made extra special with Julie and Trixie there. After the movie Julie and Trixie invited me over for a BBQ at Julies house which in reality was way better and more fun. There is just something about spending time as Susan with my friends and doing normal everyday things. For years my female side was hid in my house or late-night drives.
It was a little after 4pm when we got to Julies. The plan was to eat about 5:30 so this gave us all a chance to sit and talk, which is always fun, yes as Susan I enjoy talking and having a good conversation. Julie and I did get a picture of us but Trixie had already changed out of her pink dress. Julie did a pink lipstick today and yes blonde hair so she did look different but really cute, we look almost like sisters.
it was about 5pm when Julie started getting dinner ready, Trixie made the salad while Julie BBQ the baked potato and chicken breast and I helped set the tables up on her deck. I do wonder if he neighbors ever look out as they have a bedroom that does look over the hedges and can see the deck plus you can look down on her neighborhood road from her deck. Either way it was really relaxing to be out enjoying a nice summer day on her deck.
It was about 5:40 when the food was ready and we all sat down to have a wonderful dinner on her deck and talk. The food was awesome as always as Julie is a really good cook. This was such a fun and relaxing day and yes I don't really like to get dressed up and just sit at my home. I prefer to go someplace, even just Starbucks but being Susan and spending the day at someone else's house is awesome. I think it is the same thing as being able to express myself and live my life and going someplace while I am my female self is living my life. We had a wonderful dinner and then just sat and talked and yes we did talk about the movie and we all enjoyed it, but then everything is better when you do it as a female.
After a while it was time for desert, yes Julie has a freezer full of ice cream, I had a couple scoops of 2 different flavors, and of course we ate that out on the deck. It was a beautiful day and soon it started getting dark which is happening earlier now as summer is coming to an end, next weekend is Labor Day weekend. It was amazing how fast the day went by but it was so much fun. Thanks Julie and Trixie for inviting me to go to the movies and spend the day with you. It was after 9pm when I finally had to call it a night but I did help Julie clean up and bring things in. it is always sad to see the evening come to an end and have to go back to my male self. Now again I am not talking about transitioning or going full time, but it is just for so much of my life Susan was hid and didn't get to really express herself that much. Now yes when I do retire I think I will live more of my life as Susan then my male self but not completely as I do need my male side also. Probably 60/40 or maybe 70/30 but my male side will never go away and always be a part of who I am. I said goodbye to Julie and Trixie and thanked them for a wonderful day and then I was on my way hone but new I would See Julie again on Wednesday night when we go to dinner at Olive Garden.
Thanks for reading my blog and sharing this part of my life with me.
