In Part 29 of her experimental series My Shorts Alice uses an accidental electric shock to power prose.
I want to fill this blank space. I want to fill this blank paper I got from a charity shop because someone didn't want it because it's brown. I want to fill it. I want to fill you. I want to fill it to say I woz here. It's like a gravestone this blog, a huge explosion of ego, climbing up the sides out of an anonymous grave.
I want to write. I don't rest in peace.
I write. You read. That's the way it has to be in this lifetime.
It's like sex without the intimacy. And who needs intimacy?
cheap thrills
When I've finished I'll roll up this cheap paper, screw it up and toss it in the bin with the used tissues. You won't be able to get it out of your mind. That's the power of the right words shooting through the electrical socket in my kitchen to bruise my flesh. I say I don't care. I make these bruises myself. They are the ink I need to be the most powerful version of me sitting here with this 50p pen and this 75p charity shop paper......seducing you to think.
Alice had an electric shock last weekend and feels it has improved her writing. 361diamond.co.uk
