When I selected it two weeks ago, I had no idea how appropriate this week's song would be as a day after debate palate cleanser. Our guy had a bad night, but he told the truth whereas his opponent doesn't know what it is. Cassandra and Jamie wrote about the joint appearance so I didn't have to. It was ugly but this week's tune is gorgeous. It's just what the doctor ordered for your debate hangover.
Stevie Wonder wrote Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing for his 1973 album Innervisions. Both the album and the song were hits. What's not to love about the piano intro?
We begin with the saucy semi-salsa version from the songwriter.

The Main Ingredient cut an early cover of Stevie's sunny song with Cuba Gooding Sr. on lead vox:

FCH regulars Carmen McRae & Cal Tjader with a jazzy version of this week's tune:

Have I told you lately that Cal Tjader and I share a high school alma mater? Go San Mateo Bearcats.
The British acid jazz group Incognito had a European hit with the wonderful Wonder classic in 1992:

Finally, a 21st Century version from the London Gay Men's Chorus:

What would the Friday Cocktail Hour be without instrumental versions of the week's tune? This time, Roy Ayers Ubiquity and Pete Escovedo.

That's it for this week. Let's drink to Stevie Wonder. Thanks for all the great music. It's what Bogie, Betty, and Frank would want. Never argue with them.
