Organizational History Network Below is a message from the BRAID team about ways to get engaged with AI development for HaSS: Please see the below opportunity for a Research Associate to work with the Data-Centric Engineering programme at The Alan Turing Institute, and The New Real at the University of Edinburgh. Both early career and established researchers are encouraged to apply. Humanities and Social Sciences in Data-Centric Engineering Foundational research on human-AI teaming The Alan Turing Institute and University of Edinburgh are leading an international effort to unite the strengths of the humanities and data-centric engineering to address the challenges of today and tomorrow. The specific research focus is to develop and deepen cross-disciplinary understanding on the fundamentals of human–AI interactions and synergies in intelligent environments, and to introduce humanities, arts and social science perspectives to the study of human-AI teaming. The initiative will advance ambitious and novel research across and between disciplinary boundaries, with a focus on high risk and high potential concepts, and on empowering a sustainable and safe future for all. A Research Associate job opportunity (Deadline 7 August) will suit an innovative, interdisciplinary researcher with a robust social science or humanities background, eager to explore and shape the convergence of the humanities and design, social and cognitive sciences, with data science and engineering, to foster innovative and responsible human-AI teaming. Early career and established researchers are invited to register their interest in the theme using the link below in joining us to introduce radical interdisciplinary perspectives on this topic and open a novel area of inquiry between the humanities and data-centric engineering. This is an opportunity to be at the centre of a major new international initiative led by an interdisciplinary team within the Data-Centric Engineering programme at The Alan Turing Institute, and The New Real at the University of Edinburgh. The Principle Investigator and Theme Lead is Prof Drew Hemment. Equality, diversity and inclusion are central and we are looking to build a diverse team.
