The theory of monotropism suggests that Autistic people tend to apply their attentional resources more deeply across a narrower range of demands and stimuli. It was conceptualised in the early 2000's by Dinah Murray, Wenn Lawson, and Mike Lesser, and positioned as a “unifying theory of autism”. In the tike since, it has come to be embraced by people with a range of neurocognitive styles including ADHD and Schizophrenic people. You're currently a free subscriber to David Gray-Hammond.
