But whenever someone who is in power or an aspirant to power highlights a story, I look in other directions. What are they trying to conceal, or divert attention from? "You fall victim to people's stories …." is an oft-repeated allegation to make me look like an imbecile. What lies between the words? How dare you refuse to buy my version of the story? There will be no end to gaslighting, as long as the victim concedes defeat, and refuses to peep into pregnant darkness.
