I should let sleeping dogs lie and completely ignore unsavory things, but here we are with me definitely not doing that. For those who don't know, recently some red pilled incels, some who call themselves "reformed" and some "Christian" decided to endlessly obsess over Perseus cutting off Medusa's head, implying that this was somehow related to Biblical manhood or something. The memes, they were just bouncing all over the place.
Lots and lots of photos of Medusa's severed head and Perseus' gleeful victory.
I know this on account of the fact that it is exceedingly difficult to proclaim God is good and Western evangelism has nothing in common with the Taliban......while some of your alleged "brothers in Christ" are self identifying as demigods and posting endless memes celebrating the victory of cutting off a woman's head.
So let me now retract my position and rephrase that. Christian evangelism and Western fundamentalism should in no way resemble the kind of oppression and brutality women often encounter in the Middle East under various political factions such as the Taliban. It should not. It is contrary to what the Bible teaches. This behavior, this form of woman hatred has absolutely no place in Christianity anywhere, ever. However, clearly there are pockets of it being tolerated within Western Christiandom.
See, the thing is, nobody cares that, "not all Christians are like that," not when a bunch of Christians are slapping one another on the back over the image of a woman's severed head held in the hand of an alleged demigod. I mean hardy har har, how cute is that? Boys will be boys! Aren't we funny?
No, no you are not.
Speaking of humor however, the obsession with Biblical manhood, the insistence on the alleged protective nature of patriarchy, did send me into a fit of laughter when all juxtaposed against Perseus lopping off Medusa's head. That was such bad optics I really did wonder if a Fed might be involved somewhere.
Surely somebody is just trolling these guys??
Alas, no. They genuinely thought bragging about the joys of Christian patriarchy amid the back drop of a woman's severed head was going to be a good idea.
And they thought it was a good idea because apparently no one ever taught them different. The fact that no one ever taught them different is evidence of an epic fail that occurred within Christiandom. That epic fail is what has now given birth to this tragedy I call, churchianity or Christiandumber, and it is quite reasonable that few people would want any part of it these days. I want no part of it these days.
