Prophecy is conditional!!
Prophecy is conditional, whether or not there are specific conditions articulated in the prophecy (Jeremiah 18:7-10). If a prophetic word warns of judgment or calamity, there is always the possibility that all or at least part of it can be averted if God's people will repent, return to their first Love, and pray in faith (Ezekiel 22:30).
Conversely, if a blessing of some kind is prophesied, but the conditions to receive the blessing are not met, the blessing may not be manifested. Jonah prophesied judgment, but the people of Nineveh repented and judgment was stayed. King Hezekiah was told, "You shall surely die," yet he "turned his face to the wall," the prophecy was turned around, and he was given 15 more years. What awesome HOPE we have in the Sure Mercies of God!!
If we as God's people, called by His Name, humble ourselves, pray, seek His Face, and repent of OUR wicked ways, He WILL hear us, He WILL forgive us, and He WILL heal our land! (II Chron. 7:14)
