[Follow the BHC on social media] Enterprise and Society is a leading peer-reviewed journal in business history, publishing four times a year with a global and interdisciplinary scope. It serves as a key forum for research exploring the historical relationships between businesses and their broader political, cultural, institutional, social, and economic contexts. Upgrade to paid Role and Responsibilities The Editor-in-Chief will: • Shape and direct the journal’s intellectual and editorial vision, overseeing submissions, peer review, and publication decisions. • Review and refine editorial policies in collaboration with the Editorial Board and the Print Media Oversight Committee (PMOC) of the BHC. • Lead the journal through shifts in academic publishing, including Open Access transitions, AI’s impact on scholarly communication, and digitalization efforts. • Work closely with the Managing Editor, Carol Lockman, and coordinate with Cambridge University Press and BHC leadership on strategic developments. Appointment and Compensation The EiC serves a four-year renewable term, appointed by the BHC Trustees upon the recommendation of the PMOC. The role includes an annual stipend of $5,000, which may be taken as either travel reimbursement or direct compensation.
