Zamfara State Government has declared Monday 1st August, 2022 as work free day to commemorate the new Islamic year, 1444 after hijrah.
This was contained in a statement signed and made available to journalists by the director home affairs Alh Abubakar Muhammad Tsafe as approved by the state governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle.
The statement said, the governor wishes all people of the state happy new Islamic year and urged them to pray for peace Unity and progress of the state and the country at large.
It could be recalled that, he Sultanate Council, Sokoto has declared Saturday 30/7/2022 as the first day of Al Muharram 1444 AH.
In a statement signed and made available to Newsmen by the secretary moon sighting committee of the Sultanate, Malam Yahaya Muhammad Boyi in Sokoto said the moon of Almuharram could not be sighted Thursday, hence Friday became the 30th day of Zul-Hijja, 1443AH
