Last Saturday of April and a beautiful sunny day and a trip to the nail salon

It is the last Saturday of April and I got up early and went to the gym for almost 2 hours. The last 3 weeks I think I have only gone twice as I have been out of town on the weekends so I really needed to make up for it. I got home just before 11am and did a little yard work, yes these are all things my male side does as when I am Susan I do not want to get sweaty, dirty or do hard work. It was about 12:30 when I jumped in the shower and started getting ready. Today I went for a nice daytime look, I used my purple eyeshadow pallet and my brick red lipstick and instead of putting a little eyeshadow under my eyes is did just a little eyeliner on the water line. I was happy with the look. I was ready a little after 1:30pm and got a few pictures and called Dream Nails to see if Anna could fit me in and today was one of those days Anna asked if I wanted to come right now so I told her I would be there and about 5 minutes, the advantages of living close.

I got to Dream nails at 1:45 and went in. There was 1 lady getting a pedicure and 1 lady getting acrylic nails. Anna greeted me and said she had to leave and asked if it was okay if Kathy did my nails and I said yes. All the ladies here do a great job and Kathy is no exception and has done my nails before. I think I just ask for Anna as she was the first one here to do my nails and has done them the most. Well Anna left and I sat down at Kathy's table and she started working on my nails. Now the last time I was here Anna removed my acrylics and just put a gel polish on them to give them a break so I was really looking forward to having acrylic back. Kathy had to soak off the gel polish first which took a little time and we sat and talked. Well as we talked I made the comment about Albertsons across the street changing their name to Safeway as this weekend is their big grand reopening. Well the young lady 2 seats down from me asked about it as she didn't know so soon me, her, Kathy and the lady doing her nails were all talking together, which was really nice. I also commented on the new nail salon across the street. Dream nails is right across the street and next to Albertsons is a Goodwill and another nail salon and both have been here for a long time, but on the other side of the Goodwill parking lot is a small strip center and yes there is a new nail salon there and I was surprised they would let one go in there. Well Kathy and the other nail tech knew all about it. turns out that the building is owned by a different company and allowed it. Well before the nail salon could open the other nail salon across the street went to them and somehow got them to sell her the lease so the salon across the street now owns both of them right across the parking lot from each other.

Once Kathy had removed the gel polish she started on my nails, now she brought over a couple light pink colored acrylic and showed me what they would look like and yes on the nail they were very noticeable so I said I needed something less bright and in the end she used the same clear pink acrylic Anna uses. She put the acrylic on and shortened my nails and finished them off with just a clear coat and they actually look really good and very natural. Other then the fact they are perfectly shaped and shinny they look like a normal nail. I have done them this way before and I like them and the fact she did a complete acrylic nail works. The problem with this nail as when I get a fill as it is so sheer will be able to see the fill lines in them. Kathy did an awesome job though. It was almost 3pm when she was done and I paid and left.

Now it is about 83 out today and no wind which is perfect for sitting outside if you are in the shade. I decided to go across the street to Starbucks and see how busy they were and if there were tables open outside. It only took a couple minutes and when I got there they were pretty busy but all the tables outside were open so I went in and stood in line to get my drink. Almost all the tables inside were taken and there were people standing waiting for drinks so it took about 10 minutes or so before I got my drink. The tables outside were still open so I went and sat outside and sat facing the door so I could people watch as people came and went. It was so nice sitting outside and I worked on my blogs as I have been busy and gotten behind on them again. I wrote my blog from Wednesday night's dinner at Olive Garden which I will post later tonight and then started working on todays blog. My hope is to get most of it done so later tonight I can finish it and post it in the morning. I stayed here till about 5pm before leaving.

I decided to take a drive down to the Vancouver waterfront and check it out, really I wanted to see what parking was like. They used to have 6 parking lots down there and then they started building more and got down to 4 lots and that made it hard to find parking on the weekends, which is sad as they have some nice restaurants down here. It only took a few minutes to get there and there was a lot of traffic and a lot of people. They are now down to just 3 parking lots and they have 6 building under construction, 1 almost done and 1 just doing sight prep so I can only imagine what parking will be like when these are all done. On my way home I stopped at Panda Express to get some dinner to take home and the one lady who always helps me and I think knows was working and asked if I wanted my usual and I said yes. It still amazes me she remembers as I don't come that often and it has been over a month sense I have been here. We did chat a little as she got my order ready.

As I got home and was backing into my driveway the neighbors across the street were walking out to their car, now I think they know but have never said anything but the man did wave to me so I waved back. Not sure if he really saw me and was waving at me or at the car but it really didn't matter. I went inside and had dinner and watched TV till it was time for bed and I had to wash away my makeup. It was a really good day. Now I am looking forward to a little Susan time tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks for reading my blog and sharing this part of my life with me.
