Denys the Ukrainian pilot talks about this.
"And as for the Donald Trump, well, he wants to create more jobs by building a huge iron dome over the United States of America. He says Israel has it, so America should have it too. Let's listen to his monologue about the case":
I have to admit I do not know much about shooting things out of the sky, but this guy does make sense. He follows all the weapons transfers to Ukraine, and knows what they are used for. Trump does not seem to understand the first thing about weapon systems.
Really, we do not have Hamas and Hezbollah shooting at us across the border, or Mexico and Canada trying to engage with us in an existential religious war, so what do we need an "iron dome" for?. And do we not need some protection from Russia, other than Trump's assurances that Putin likes him?
Has anyone ever called him out on this iron dome thing? No, I think t hey just give him a free pass. On everything. Or maybe it's just an example of Brandolini's law, aka the bullshit asymmetry principle, "an internet adage that emphasizes the effort of debunking misinformation, in comparison to the relative ease of creating it in the first place". These days, you have to be able to put everything in a 30-second sound bite, or in the case of "the debate", a two minute rebuttal with the answer to a new question sandwiched somewhere in between.
But when did Trump talk about this, and where. Was it recent?
Yes, he talks about it all the time. If google is any indication, seems to be a standard item in his stump speech.
After going down a rabbit hole of Trump's imaginary battery-powered tanks, I finally found it. There is a YouTube channel, RSBN, that does nothing but publish raw video of Trump's speeches, including the two hours before the speech with the music blaring over the loudspeakers. The speech was given Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the "Faith & Freedom" rally. Matching the time stamp to the one in the excerpt, the comments are at 3:27:19 in the video.
