Organizational History Network We are pleased to welcome the new 𝐵𝑢𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝐻𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑦 Co-Editors, Abe de Jong and Chris Colvin! Abe de Jong is a professor at the University of Groningen (Netherlands) and Monash University (Australia). His research focuses on #financial and business history, mainly on the Netherlands. Recent research projects have been conducted on the Dutch East India Company (17th century), plantation financing in the Caribbean (18th century), and the functioning of the Amsterdam Stock Exchange in the 19th and 20th centuries. He uses various #methods and both qualitative and quantitative data sources. Chris Colvin is based at Queen's University Belfast, where he directs the university’s Centre for Economic History. His research mainly focuses on topics in business and financial history, but he is also interested in economic and demographic history. His recent publications are about monetary policymaking during the Great Depression, the origins of cooperative banks in the Netherlands, and Irish population dynamics following the Famine. He is currently working on the decline of the Irish language in the 19th century, the financing of innovative firms in Britain in the early 20th century, and business termination decisions in the Netherlands across the 20th century. He typically constructs and analyses large datasets of people, firms and industries. We’re excited to have Abe and Chris on board! Organizational History Network is free today.
