Australia buries its head in the sand regarding the RWNJ in the White HouseNormalising Trump's behaviour
The US mainstream media 's effort to walk both sides of the street is bearing fruit. They normalised Trump’s first week in office as Trump being Trump. But consider some of his crazier ideas-Take over Canada as the 51st state; Obtain Greenland, through a cash payment, or by invasion; Leave the Paris Accord, and condemn the world to not only climate catastrophe, but the probable collapse of society; Leave the World Health Organisation, which invites another pandemic. As we know, Trump was guilty of neglecting his responsibilities to the people, causing hundreds of thousands of American deaths during COVID 19, because he was so thoroughly inept, not to say overwhelmed by the task of protecting the people. So he lied about the disease, and vilified and demonised Dr Fauci, the architect of America’s response. He has just cancelled the security detail protecting Dr Fauci, so if his death follows, it will be all down to Trump. So now governments world-wide are discovering the downside of Americans voting with absolutely NO foresight, and an absurd belief that God somehow had a hand in electing the old fool. Their evangelical religion is so perverted that it has managed to shrug off any Christian message of love and care, and replaced it with a form of “cargo cult” which they stupidly expect to deliver prosperity and manufacturing jobs. If only God could be hoodwinked by a convicted felon, a bankrupt (many times over), an abuser of women, and an uneducated and culture-free ruffian. Watch Charlie Angus, a Canadian MP, actually negate Trump’s reasons for joining the ‘meth lab’ which lies directly south of Canada-the USA. Trump’s first premise was that Canadians would jump to join the Union with the US because of their health system. That would be where, although the US spends twice as much on their failed health system as any other nation, the private insurers regularly do not pay the insureds’ bills, and where becoming sick bankrupts many families. In Canada and Australia we enjoy a health system which is universal, and free. Funded by taxpayers, for ALL citizens. So, no sale, Donald. The narrative about Trump is that he is just an incompetent boofhead, full of harmless bluster. He is, however, this time around, just the front-man for a really serious attempt to change the world, and not in a good way. The Heritage Foundation, with its excessive wealth and really immature investors, is calling the shots. (Don’t tell the Donald). He wants to turn Gaza into a Mediterranean resort. He has effectively given Netanyahu a green light to re-open the conflict, if Netanyahu is not happy with the results so far. Of course the prospect of jail if found guilty of corruption is another spice in the mix, but his actions speak louder than words, with his armed attacks in the West Bank, latest death count 22, tells us he doesn’t want the cease-fire to hold. Refusing to leave Lebanon is another signal of his genocidal intent. What most Australians don’t realise is that Trump has already caused chaos, division, and a dumbing down of the electorate, so that his primitive calls to arms are sweet music to the chronically unhappy and in many cases, impoverished millions who voted for him. The only thing he has done for the poor is to increase the price of drugs for those on Medicare and Medicaid. Oh, he has also vandalised Obamacare, cancelling a period of grace for Americans who have not yet signed up for healthcare. His actions will further impoverish the poor and the elderly. But wait, there is more. Every tariff he imposes into the future will not be borne by the countries exporting to the US, but by the consumer, who will pay extra for any imported goods. His seeming support of Putin in his war with Ukraine will further embolden the tyrant. Trump’s preposterous bid for Greenland could see the new Russia and the new USA as virtual allies. So he terrorises Canada and Greenland, who are both allies, and really likes Putin, who wants to re-establish the Soviet Union. . Of course we haven’t mentioned Elon Musk yet, who has already meddled in British politics with specious attacks against the newly elected Labour Party, but also in the German political scene, with his support for the AfD, their ridiculous and pumped up neo-nazis. His tedious salutes at the inauguration seemed to reflect a set of South African values from the 1950s. But let’s concentrate on Trump. He is dangerous, because he is clueless. He knows not what he does, because he doesn’t understand consequences. He is like a narcissistic teenager, just happy that he is getting noticed. And his wealth will continue to grow.
