Neurodiversity as a concept can be broadly understood as the idea that human bodyminds, specifically their brains and nervous systems, are subject to just as much biodiversity as any other aspect of human biology. Humans, like all other species, rely on the diversity of genes and subsequent existence to allow us to be the adaptable and pervasive species that we currently are. A common misunderstanding is that Neurodiversity refers to things like autism and ADHD. While they are an important part of the discussion, they are small and somewhat watered down aspects of what neurodiversity is. Human brains are not neatly categorised.
