So… I have been thinking about this post (with this title) for some time, but was actually planning a different post this week. But then, Friday night, at our local wine bar (all bio, always a bit too cold, and always a little overpriced), we were chatting about the news, scrolling through the apps, and I came across a Guardian article about academics in the Epstein files (written by a B-School prof, Christopher Marquis). Now that is academic Politics with a capital P.

It certainly kicked off a lively discussion on LinkedIn. If you haven’t seen it yet, it's worth looking at here.

And then I decided to write the academic politics post a little earlier than I had intended, because the various thoughts I have had on the subject have been distilling for a while. But they really snapped into sharp relief after Friday night.
