A discount on the conference fee is available to ABH members - please go to https://www.theabh.org/ for details of joining the association. The conference venue is the: Queen’s Business School, URL: https://www.qub.ac.uk/schools/queens-business-school/ The venue is located a fifteen-minute walk from the main University campus. If you are arriving early on Thursday 19th June, you are welcome to join the Slaven PhD Workshop as an audience member. We are delighted to announce that the keynote speaker is David Walmsley Editor-in-Chief of The Globe and Mail, Canada’s preeminent daily newspaper and ‘newspaper of record’. David is a major player in global journalism and news, due to be appointed President of the World Editors’ Forum the body that represents the world's editors. He is the creator of World News Day, a global day of education to grow audience awareness involving more than 500 newsrooms on five continents. The day explains the role of journalism and how it can make the world a better place with both live events around the world and online sessions. Born and raised in Belfast we look forward to welcoming him back to the city to discuss his long-standing interests in the importance and role of history in news reporting through a fireside conversation with Professor John Turner. On Friday 20th candidates for the Coleman Prize for best PhD in business history will make their presentations, and the prize will be awarded at the reception preceding the conference dinner later in the evening. The banquet, reception, and lunches are all included in the fees. We have provided helpful information with regards to travel and accommodation in the attached PDF.
