Psychosis in Autistic people is too often approached as a malfunction to be corrected; something located inside the person, detached from the world they are trying to survive. This webinar starts somewhere else entirely. Drawing on the ecosystemic model of distress, David Gray-Hammond makes the case that distress does not originate in an isolated individual but emerges across a whole ecology; the sensory environment, relationships and their ruptures, material conditions, and the accumulated weight of being misread. Understood this way, psychosis in Autistic people becomes legible not as deficit, but as a meaningful response arising within a system under strain. This is the workshop David presented at the International Society for Psychological and Social Approaches to Psychosis (ISPS) International Congress in Lausanne, Switzerland, on 7 July 2026; now brought to the NeuroHub community.
