About the EditorsBernardo Batiz-Lazo is Professor of Fintech History at Northumbria University (UK) and Visiting Research Professor at Universidad Anáhuac (Mexico). A Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and the Academy of Social Sciences, he’s a leading voice on the history of inancial technology and retail payments. His books include Cash and Dash (OUP) and The Book of Payments (Routledge). He has advised IBM, the Gates Foundation, and Mexico’s Finance Ministry. JC Spender is Research Professor at Kozminski University in Warsaw, Poland. Ghassan Moazzin is Assistant Professor at the Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of Humanities (Department of History), the University of Hong Kong. He specializes in the economic and business history of modern China. He is the author of Foreign Banks and Global Finance in Modern China: Banking on the Chinese Frontier, 1870-1919. Contact details:
